Welcome to the Youth Scientists in Residence Program 2007!

As part of this program, you will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on science activities, broaden your knowledge of science, receive a New York Hall of Science student membership and best of all, an employment position at the Hall after completing the 8th grade portion of the program.

Students are required to attend and arrive on time to each scheduled Saturday session.

· Morning session – 9:30am-2:00pm (breakfast and lunch provided
· Afternoon session – 1:00pm-5:30pm (lunch and snack provided)

By participating in this program, you will also have the opportunity to join the Science Career Ladder.

Science Career Ladder

The Science Career Ladder provides high school students the opportunity to work at the Hall assisting in various functions including exhibit interpretation, conducting science demonstrations and assisting Instructors. Based on their performance, Science Career Ladder employees can achieve higher salaries and gain more responsibilities through promotions. Each student participating in the YSIR program is automatically eligible to join the Science Career Ladder after completing the 8th grade portion of the program. However, students must be at least 14 years of age and have a working permit in order to begin employment at the Hall.

As soon as you turn 14 and get your working papers, fill out and send the attached Explainer Intern Application to:
